Learning Outcomes for Teaching of Writing 

Students who complete the certificate will be able to:

  • To apply various methodologies for teacher research on writing and writing processes
  • To develop research-based pedagogy that accounts for individual/collective difference
  • To apply methods of evaluation and assessment of writing
  • To create effective writing activities and lessons in an array of curricula formation
  • To formulate effective application of technology in the classroom
  • To explore the challenges of marginalized writers and learn how to facilitate their writing  development 

Learning Outcomes for Professional Writing  

Students who complete the certificate will be able to:

  • Use professional writing skills and appropriate technology to produce documents and multimedia;
  • Communicate clearly through new and traditional media for informative, persuasive, and promotional purposes; and
  • Locate, utilize and synthesize sources to support communication objectives.
