Program Requirements Credits
Total Credit Hours 36.0
Baccalaureate degree in mathematics or related field (e.g., statistics, computer sciences, physics, chemistry, engineering) from an accredited institution. At least 21 credit hours of undergraduate work in mathematics at the level of calculus or above. Applicants with insufficient mathematical background may be required to take additional undergraduate courses that will not be counted toward the graduate degree. Overall minimum GPA of 2.5 on 4.0 scale for all undergraduate work or minimum 2.75 on 4.0 scale in last 60 hours of study which may include no more than 12 hours graduate study. Scores on the general or mathematics subject area of the GRE taken within last 5 years. Two letters of recommendation from persons qualified to evaluate applicant's ability to pursue graduate study in mathematics. Personal statement

Select four graduate level mathematics courses.  
 
Other Requirements
At least 18 hours of the required 36 hours must be 600-level. Written comprehensive examination in 2 areas chosen from algebra, real analysis, differential equations, complex analysis, and statistics.
