| Minimum GPA of 2.7 on 4.0 scale or 3.0 on 4.0 scale in last 60 credits, which may include no more than 12 hours of graduate study. Reference letters. North Carolina teaching license. Those interested in teaching in ESL programs serving adult population and who do not seek a NC teaching license or a degree must have a bachelor's degree to be admitted to the program.
Candidates who are K-12 teachers will be admitted into the program under the "Professional Development" classification. Those recommended for "A-level" teacher licensure in their primary area also may apply for admission into the ESL Add-on Licensure program. FSU provides a program for currently employed teachers who wish to add an ESL licensure to their degree through this 18 credit hour program.
