Program Requirements Credits
Total Credit Hours 18.0
Satisfactory GPA. Reference letters. North Carolina teaching license. Those interested in teaching in ESL programs serving adult population and who do not seek a NC teaching license or a degree must have a bachelor's degree to be admitted to the program. Candidates who are K-12 teachers will be admitted into the program under the "Professional Development." classification. Formal admission to the Teacher Education Program is required of all undergraduate candidates. Those recommended for "A-level" teacher licensure in their primary area also may apply for admission into the ESL Add-on Licensure program. FSU provides a program for currently employed teachers who wish to add an ESL licensure to their degree through this 18 credit hour program.
